Pelvic dysfunction can be treated with MFR

People are often surprised to hear that pelvic problems such as incontinence and various pelvic pain syndromes can be helped with MFR. The pelvic “floor” is composed of fascia, muscle, bone, nerves, etc, just like any other part of our body. It’s just a little harder to reach. Internal manual techniques are a critical part of treatment for pelvic problems.

Diagnoses such as chronic pelvic pain, vulvadynia, vaginitis, endometriosis, incontinence, dysparunia, dysmenorrhea are just a few examples of diagnoses that can be helped. They are rarely discussed, are under treated, and yet surprisingly common.

These internal pelvic techniques can also be extremely helpful in treating other diagnoses and pain syndromes, especially headaches, low back and neck and even jaw pain. As mentioned above, symptoms are a result of restrictions sometimes quite distant and in seemingly unrelated areas of the body.  When we help to balance the pelvis oftentimes other issues come to the surface.  Issues of past trauma can be held in the pelvis as the pelvic bowl houses our sense of security and safety.   Connecting with those traumas can help to heal pain in your body.

I will help you to bring awareness to your pelvic bowl. Your pelvic muscles run in many different directions and the fascia pulls in all directions, which can leave us susceptible to torsions and twists that create pain and stiffness.
Bringing awareness to the fact that a twist in your pelvis can actually lead to a twisted mind and feelings of depression and anxiety.

When our pelvis is twisted it places a subsequent twist on our spine and can reach all the way up into our head and brain via the fascial system and the spinal cord (which is housed in the spine) and creates compression and limited blood flow up into the brain. This can affect the way we think. It can leave us fatigued and foggy minded.

We can also experience pain directly in our twisted pelvis but these twists also lead to pain in the back, hips, spine and even up into the head and neck causing headaches.

Hip & knee replacements are far too common in our society. This is often because of the twisted pelvis creating uneven strain patterns on our hips or knees, which leads to joint compression and uneven wear and tear.
